Daryl “DJ” Riley Jr. is the Co-Founder & CEO of Tendaji, a fashion tech startup developing solar-powered wearable technology, beginning with a wireless charging jacket. What started as a senior design project at Hampton University has evolved into a patent-pending venture focused on redefining how people power their everyday lives through sustainable innovation.

DJ’s leadership has earned national recognition, including being a Prize Winner of Pharrell Williams’ Black Ambition Competition, a Fellow in the 2025 beVisioneers: The Mercedes-Benz Fellowship, and a panelist at the 2026 beVisioneers Global Summit in Germany. He has also been featured in Essence Magazine, named to Hampton University’s Forty Under 40, and engaged with global platforms such as Microsoft’s #MakeWhatsNext Patent Program that support innovation and entrepreneurship.
